Veterans Day

I love the military. I have a lot of family near and far fighting for our freedom daily. I have a few pictures of my family members. Just wanted to recognize them and tell them that I appreciate my freedom and I know that is because of them.

My first picture is my uncle Brad (Officer Hansen), troop 1457. He served in Iraq and continues to serve as an officer.

The next picture is when Brad came home for his leave from Iraq. He had two weeks to be home with us. This is him and his son, River. Notice my Grandpa in the left corner..he is so proud!

My grandpa is someone that is very special to me. He was also a hero. He retired as CSM in the National Guard. These are younger pictures of him as a soldier.

The next picture is my grandpa the day of retirement.

This is my little sister, Sydney who is now 17. I think she was around 5 in this picture. It is so cute.

I also had a Grandpa who was a pilot, a step grandpa involved in WWII, a step brother in the Virginia Military institute, and many, many more family members and friends who are currently serving, or have served. Thank you so much! I love you guys.

This is the land of the free, because of the brave.

Under Construction

I realize that Halloween is over. :) I am working on changing up the blog to go with the fall holiday instead of the Halloween holiday. I apologize for the disaster.

"Mommy, When I grow up, I wanna be just like my Daddy."

Clayton locked his keys out of his truck on Saturday, while at the fire station. I decided to make the trip useful and take a few pictures of Clayton and Carter while Clayton was in his gear. They are so cute. Carter wanted to get down and play so bad!! So cute!!

Gardner Village 2009

The tradition was started a few years ago with the Johnson family to head up to Gardner Village and get something to eat and shop and all of that stuff. This is the first year I have ever gone and I decided to take my Carter. It was pretty fun, although I was pretty disappointed with the selection up there. I didn't buy one thing. Weird huh? We ate at Texas Roadhouse and then headed up. Good times with the ladies.

Carter in the Quilt Shop...He was so bored.

Carter and my sister Katelyn. They are best buds.

Carter is big in to pointing these days....isn't that so dang cute!??

Catch ya later!

So most of the people in our life already know that we took the plunge and moved out of our tiny honeymoon suite! Yes, the rumors are true. Our rent went up from $485 a month; SO worth it!Good bye 69 East 100 North...Hello Lehi!

I feel like I am back home now. Lehi is where I went to school, so I feel more comfortable here. I love it. We now officially have a garbage disposal, a dishwasher (That isn't me), a real heating system and a carport! YAHOOO! We are so moving up in this world. We thought about buying, which wouldn't be a bad idea. However, I am going to apply for nursing school in the summer. I really don't want the stress of working full-time, which would have had to happen. So, here we are!

This is the last picture as a family at our tiny house. (I don't look one bit sad, because I am not sad at all!)

Happy First Birthday Little Man!!!!

Dear Carter,
It has been an entire year since you came in to our lives. From a huge big old belly bump, to a bouncing, beautiful baby boy....You are the love of my life. Things have been up and down; and that is human nature. Mostly ups though! You make me SO HAPPY!I am so proud of you. Not only are you so so so stinking cute, you are smart and you have the ability to teach me so many things. The last year has been better than I ever imagined it would ever be. Being a mom is a blessing. You are a blessing.

The first year of your life you accomplished the following:
. Rolling, Crawling, Sitting, Walking and making Huge messes
. You have eaten things from milk to dirt.
. You are wearing size 4 diapers and 18-24 month clothes.
. You smile, giggle, laugh, talk, babble, and hug.
. You wave bye bye, you point, you know what you want, and you are learing how to communicate very clearly.
. You clap your hands, you growl, you copy what the dog is doing, and you think you are a big boy!

I have a journal for you. It is detailed right down to the first time that you smiled at me. Someday I will give it to you. I love you Doodle bop! Happy Happy Birthday!

Love, Mommy

For Carter's first birthday, we had a picnic at Wine's Park. We had lots of food, cake and ice cream. Carter got so many presents! It was worse than Christmas. I am going to post a slideshow of his first year. It is our of order and it isn't super clear. The one that I have on DVD, however, is clear, in order and is very cute! Anyway, enjoy!
